North Liberty is one of the fastest growing towns in Iowa and is a very popular choice with home buyers, especially those looking for newer homes. North Liberty has changed beyond recognition compared to when I moved to Iowa in 2000. Two decades later it’s a vibrant community with a population approaching 20,000, (compared to 5,367 in the 2000 Census). Considering the strong growth in the population, it almost goes without saying that there are many more newer homes in North Liberty than there are older homes. That said, the trend in home styles is similar to Iowa City and Coralville. Buyers will find a good selection of both apartment style and townhouse style condos, zero lots and single family homes.
Are you looking for an easy commute to downtown Iowa City, or to the UI Hospitals? Do you or your partner perhaps have ties to both the Iowa City and the Cedar Rapids area? North Liberty is the perfect location for this scenario, sitting smack in the middle of both locations.
What North Liberty doesn’t have that both Coralville and Iowa City offer is a well functioning transit system. I know many of the clients I help relocating to the Iowa City area want to live on the bus line. Both Coralville and Iowa City are good choices if this is on your list of “must haves,” but not an option in either North Liberty or Tiffin. I mention that here, because if it is a deal breaker for where you purchase a home, it’s better to know up front rather than later.
When it comes time to figure out exactly what you need in a home, finding the right agent to work with will make the home buying process a whole lot smoother. Someone who’s got your back and is knowledgeable about North Liberty neighborhoods and can offer good advice and guidance as you figure out the right home to fit your lifestyle. Please reach out if you’re interested in buying a home in North Liberty. I’d love the opportunity to be that agent!
